I made the decision to train as a reflexologist as it was something I had been interested in for a while. I particularly wanted to help women with fertility issues and support them through pregnancy using this wonderful holistic therapy. So, after training and qualifying in 2009 I started my business, Wise Reflexology, so I could embark on my passion. I slowly began to build up a clientele and found I was receiving many recommendations and through word of mouth had contact from some wonderful clients. I am delighted to say that many of my fertility clients also became maternity clients! I also enjoyed treating clients for a number of other reasons too and found I was supporting them; especially through difficult times.
Sadly in May 2015 my world collapsed; my biggest fan and very best friend, my mum, was diagnosed with brain cancer. I was fortunate enough to be in a position whereby I could stop working and care for my mum during the short time she was ill, only 5 months and then she was gone.
As you can appreciate reflexology took a back seat for a while, then in January 2016 I started treating some regular clients that I felt comfortable with and love treating. My mum was so proud of my being a Reflexologist and spent many an hour snoring in my chair!
I know Reflexology is such a wonderful treatment that can help with so many issues. Just giving someone the time to just be, particularly with the busy lifestyles we all lead, while receiving a truly wonderful treatment is where I think I could be of most help. Not treating patients themselves, but treating their loved ones who may just need an hour to be themselves, heal a little, making them stronger to carry on both during a loved ones last month's and after they have gone.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I hope that I may be seeing you and your feet soon.
